Rules of the space
2. General Booking Terms
2.1. A provisional date can be held for 7 days without obligation.
2.2. The booking is only confirmed upon signed Terms and Conditions and receipt of a non-refundable deposit and written confirmation of payment.
2.3. If the event is less than two months away, we will require full payment upfront.
2.4. A deposit of £500 is required to secure your booking, unless otherwise agreed.
2.5. Final event details, including guest numbers, schedule, and special requests, must be confirmed no later than 14 days prior to the event.
2.6. Any changes to the style, format, or number of guests must be communicated as early as possible. As we host multiple events and are open to the public, reallocation of spaces is not always possible at short notice.
7. Licensing & Venue Restrictions
7.1. In accordance with our premises licence, Balfour Winery is open to the public during the following standard hours:
- Monday to Wednesday: 10:00am – 7:00pm (later opening available by prior written agreement with your Event Organiser)
- Thursday to Saturday: 10:00am – 11:00pm
- Sunday: 10:00am – 7:00pm
7.2. We may be able to accommodate earlier opening times on any day except Sundays, provided this is arranged in writing with your Event Organiser in advance.
7.3. No guests are permitted outside the venue (including terraces and outdoor areas) after 9:00pm, unless this has been agreed in writing with your Event Organiser.
7.4. No live or amplified music is permitted outdoors after 7:00pm, unless pre-approved in writing.
7.5. Last orders for drinks are half hour prior to the closing time mentioned above.
8. Catering
8.1. Final numbers, menu choices and drinks pre-orders must be submitted no later than 2 weeks prior to the event date.
8.2. Any dietary or allergy requirements should also be submitted at this time.
8.3. You are financially responsible for the minimum number of guests specified, regardless of any subsequent reduction in attendance.
8.4. We will make every effort to accommodate increases in guest numbers, but this is subject to availability.
8.5. In rare cases of supplier shortages, we will contact you to propose suitable alternatives.
8.6. Pricing may be subject to change due to market fluctuations during the booking duration.
9. Food & Drink Policy
9.1. No external food or beverages may be brought onto the premises.
9.2. Any such items will be confiscated. It is your responsibility to request return of these items before leaving. Otherwise, they may be disposed of, and Balfour reserves the right to remove guests or groups found in breach of this policy.
10. External Suppliers & Deliveries
10.1 Any external suppliers (entertainers, florists, AV teams, etc.) must be disclosed to your Event Organiser in writing in advance.
10.2 Where applicable, suppliers must provide proof of valid public liability insurance before accessing the venue. It is your responsibility to locate this.
10.3 We reserve the right to refuse entry or service from any unauthorised or unvetted supplier.
11. Décor and Use of Venue
11.1 All décor and styling items must be agreed in writing with your Event Organiser in advance.
11.2 The use of confetti, glitter, or similar materials is not permitted anywhere on site.
11.3 You may not attach, hang, or apply anything to our walls, furniture, or fixtures. Any damage will incur charges.
11.4 All event-related items must be removed at the end of your booking. Balfour Winery is not liable for any personal or event-related items left behind.
